How to Kick Flip on a Tech Deck

A Tech Deck is a miniature skateboard or "fingerboard" that is approximately 96 mm long and 26 mm wide. It has moving wheels, trucks, graphics, and grip-tape on the top. The user manipulates the Tech Deck with their fingers and can perform many of the same tricks that a standard-sized skateboarder can. One such trick is called a kick flip and involves popping the fingerboard into the air (called an "ollie") and then "kicking" the board away to make the board flip over. The user then lands the fingerboard back on the wheels.

Instructions

    • 1

Place your middle finger on the back or "tail" of the Tech Deck fingerboard. Place your index finger on the Tech Deck logo in the middle of the board.

    • 2

Press your middle finger down on the tail to pop the front of the board up while simultaneously sliding your index finger toward the front of the deck and slightly away from you. The motion of moving your index finger slightly away from you will "kick" the board and cause it to spin in the air.

    • 3

Maintain contact on the Tech Deck with your fingers while it is in the air to retain control over the fingerboard.

    • 4

Bring your fingers down on the fingerboard after it has completely flipped over and the grip-tape is facing up to land the trick. All four wheels should hit the ground at the same time if the trick is done properly.
