How to color a tech deck
Remove the wheels and trucks from the smooth side of the board to create a clean surface to decorate without getting materials on the hardware. Tools to remove the hardware usually come with a fingerboard kit or can be purchased separately at a low price.
Use permanent markers to spruce up a Tech Deck with a pre-existing design. Color in letters or empty spaces. Let the ink dry before using the fingerboard to ensure the color does not smudge.
Create a custom design using a sheet of sticker paper. Measure the fingerboard before creating a design and applying it to the board. Cut the sticker paper the shape of the board. Apply the sticker as smoothly as possible. Cover it with a layer of clear packing tape to make sure it does not wear off over time.
Add color to a Tech Deck using stickers or decals. Many kits come with stickers included, or stickers can be found at a local craft store.
Apply color grip tape in patterns or as a whole strip. Grip tape already placed on the board can be easily removed by peeling it off or soaking the board in water. Cut out a fingerboard-sized strip from normal skateboard grip tape or purchase tape made specifically for Tech Decks.
