How to Make Paper Magic Wallets

A magic wallet has two identical pockets. You can use these pockets to make a coin seem to disappear, turn a $5 bill into a $1 bill or make a torn piece of paper into a whole sheet. All you have to do is place the item in one pocket and rotate the wallet so that the other pocket is the one that is opened--while saying whistling your magic tune, of course.

Instructions

    • 1

Fold the paper in half by bringing two sides together. Crease this fold and cut the paper in half along it. Place the paper right side down on a table with a long side facing you.

    • 2

Fold the bottom left corner up at an angle until the left side of the paper meets the top edge. Fold the top right corner down at an angle until the right side of the paper meets the bottom edge. Crease these folds. You will have formed a parallelogram.

    • 3

Fold the top left corner down until the top edge meets the slit that runs down the center of the paper. Crease this fold. Fold the point on the left hand to the right, folding along the slit that runs down the middle of the paper. Crease this fold. You now have a triangle

    • 4

Fold the triangle in half by bringing its bottom right point up to meet the top left point. Crease this fold sharply and unfold it.

    • 5

Squeeze the top left triangle so a pocket opens in the middle of the big triangle. Slip the bottom right point into this pocket until the triangle is again folded along the last crease you made.
