How to Flip a Tech Deck

Tech Deck makes miniature skateboards, designed for use with the fingers. Tech Deck fingerboards feature functional and modifiable skateboard components such as grip tape, trucks and wheels. The same basic action is used to perform all Tech Deck flip tricks, including kickflips and heelflips. Flipping a Tech Deck involves making the Tech Deck rotate 360 degrees in the air and then catching it with your fingers to land the flip trick.

Instructions

    • 1

Position your fingers in regular stance on the Tech Deck, with your index finger in the middle of the Tech Deck and your middle finger on the tail end. Your fingers should be kept straight, with your hand lying flat.

    • 2

Slide the Tech Deck approximately 4 inches backwards while snapping the tail end down firmly with one quick motion using your middle finger. Slide your fingers up the grip tape to the nose end of the Tech Deck immediately after snapping the tail end down, forcing both ends of the Tech Deck into the air.

    • 3

Flick the edge of the nose end of the Tech Deck down with your index finger, forcing the Tech Deck to spin 360 degrees in the air. If you want the Tech Deck to spin outwards or away from you for a heelflip, aim to flick the outer edge of the nose end of the Tech Deck, directly to the right of the front set of hardware bolts. If you want the Tech Deck to spin inwards for a kickflip, flick the inside edge closest to you on the nose end of the Tech Deck, next to the front set of hardware bolts.

    • 4

Catch the Tech Deck with your fingers after it is done flipping 360 degrees in the air. Your index finger should catch the middle of the Tech Deck while your middle finger should resume its regular position on the tail end. Land the flip trick with your fingers in regular stance on the Tech Deck.
