Rubber Band Ball Instructions

Kids who love bouncing balls might enjoy the process of making their own bouncy ball. With basic household materials and a little time, you can create a bouncy ball that looks and bounces as well as any ball bought in a store. Use simple rubber bands to form a rubber band ball, adding more rubber bands to increase its diameter. Give your ball even more pizazz by using colorful rubber bands. When you finish, you will have a high-bouncing ball.

Things You'll Need

Small scrap of aluminum foil
Bag of colored rubber bands

Instructions

  Roll a 5-inch square of aluminum foil into a tight ball.

  Select a rubber band and stretch it around the ball several times until the rubber band conforms tightly to the aluminum foil ball.

  Add another rubber band around the aluminum foil ball using the same process. Continue adding more rubber bands, making sure each rubber band is very tight around the ball. Eventually you will cover the aluminum foil ball and you will be making the ball larger with each rubber band that you add.

  Add rubber bands until the ball is the size you desire.
