Instructions

  1. Bread Dough

    • 1

Mix the Elmer's Glue, bread and food coloring together in a small bowl. Knead the mixture for several minutes.

    • 2

Add one or two drops of food coloring if desired.

    • 3

Roll, mold or pinch the batter into the desired shapes. Let the shapes air dry completely.

    • 4

Paint the hardened food shapes with glue paint if desired.

    Glue Dough

    • 5

Measure equal parts of Elmer's Glue, flour and corn starch. It is very important that you measure exactly. Combine the ingredients in a large bowl.

    • 6

Mix and knead the mixture until it is well-blended. Add the food coloring by drops if desired. If the mixture is too dry, add a drop of glue. If the mixture is too moist, add additional equal parts of flour and corn starch until the dough is at the consistency you desire.

    • 7

Mold or cut the dough into your desired shapes. When they are dried completely, the pieces can be painted with glue paint if desired.

    Glue Paint

    • 8

Place an appropriate amount of glue (enough to cover the entire item) into a bowl. For example, if you are painting an apple, use one tablespoon of glue.

    • 9

Add drops of food color to the glue until the desired hue is achieved. You will want to put at least five drops into each bowl for optimal color.

    • 10

Paint the glue onto the pieces of food. Let the paint dry completely before using the food.
