How to Make a Tech Deck Bench

Skateboarders can perform tricks in a skate park while Tech Deck users can have the miniature equivalent for their finger boards. Tricking around on your Tech Deck can be done with skate park accessories purchased in stores or with obstacles you can build on your own. These obstacles include ramps, rails, and stairs, along with miniature versions of objects such as benches. Creating a Tech Deck bench can be done with craft sticks that are glued together for a sturdy obstacle you can kick flip over or grind across.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut 14 wooden craft sticks in half using a small handsaw. Create two stacks of 14 halved-sticks each. The curved sides of each stick should be facing the same direction.

    • 2

Glue each stick from each stack to the one on top of it using wood glue. Allow the glue to fully dry. These stacks form the base of your bench.

    • 3

Arrange the stacks to that the curved end is facing you and the flat end is facing the back. Glue the end of one full craft stick to the top, curved end of the first stack and the other end to the top, curved end of the second stack.

    • 4

Glue a second craft stick onto the top, back end of each stack. Repeat with a third stick in the middle of the two stacks. These three craft sticks form the planks of the bench.

    • 5

Cut a craft stick in half. Place one half of the stick vertically and flush against the flat back of the bench with the flat side of the craft stick touching the ground. The stick should extend up and off the bench. Glue the stick in place and repeat on the other side with the other half. These become the support for the back of the bench

    • 6

Glue two craft sticks horizontally onto the back support stacks, one above the other. One end of each stick should be on each part of the support. Make sure the top stick is attached to the top end of the support beams to create an even line. Allow the bench to fully dry.
