How to Do a Pressure Flip on a Tech Deck

Tech Deck owners can perform the same tricks as their skateboarding counterparts by using their fingers in place of their legs and feet. One trick you can practice with your Tech Deck is the pressure flip. This flip relies almost entirely on your middle finger to both launch the deck and create the momentum for the flip. Your index finger is used at the end of the trick for landing but otherwise stays out of the way as you pull off the pressure flip.

Instructions

    • 1

Position your body so the Tech Deck is at waist level on a flat surface such as a table. Rotate the deck so it is parallel to your body, with the nose facing left.

    • 2

Position your right hand with the middle finger so it rests slightly to the left of the tail of the deck. The small curve of the deck should be used as a guide for placing the finger. Place your index finger at the halfway point between the center and nose of your deck.

    • 3

Adjust your hand so your fingers are bent and your palm is parallel to the table. Move your hand to the side to move the Tech Deck. Use this momentum to begin the pressure flip.

    • 4

Push your middle finger down and toward the deck as if you were about to curl your middle finger towards your palm.

    • 5

Lift your index finger off the deck to allow the nose to launch upwards. As the nose goes up, release the tail of the deck from your middle finger to allow the deck an inhibited flip.

    • 6

Wait for the deck to become upright after making a 360-degree flip away from you.

    • 7

Place equal pressure onto the tail and nose of your deck with your middle and index fingers, respectively. Bring the deck down to complete the trick.
