How to Make a Sniper Rifle Dart Gun

A dart gun is more quiet than any other weapon because it uses air, not gunpowder, to fire its projectile. You can make a pretend "sniper rifle" dart gun that will let you fire on targets from far away with impunity. To build it, you will need a few parts and tools from a hardware store and a few days. Your sniper rifle dart gun will be able to shoot a great distance because it will be using air pressure, not your breath, to fire the projectile.

Things You'll Need

Newspaper
PVC pipe, 1/8 inch wide, 2 foot long
PVC pipe fitting, 1/2 inch wide
Bonding glue
̶0;Y̶1; PVC pipe fitting, 1/8 inch wide
PVC air gauge regulator
Air compressor bottle
Bicycle pump
Foam rubber sheet
Utility knife

Instructions

  Put the newspaper down on a table. Put the 2 foot long PVC pipe down on the table horizontally. Insert the right end of the PVC pipe into the PVC pipe fitting. Apply bonding glue around the end of the PVC pipe and inside of the PVC pipe fitting to adhere the two together. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

  Place the ̶0;Y̶1; pipe fitting down on the newspaper with the two sides making up the ̶0;Y̶1; at the top. Insert the left pipe of the ̶0;Y̶1; pipe fitting into the free end of the PVC pipe fitting.

  Apply bonding glue inside of the PVC pipe fitting to adhere it to the pipe inside of it. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

  Place the PVC air gauge regulator down on the newspaper with the screw fitting at the bottom. Insert the free tube of the ̶0;Y̶1; pipe fitting into the left side of the PVC air gauge regulator.

  Apply bonding glue inside of the PVC air gauge regulator to adhere it to the pipe inside of it. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

  Insert the screw fitting at the bottom of the PVC air gauge regulator into the opening at the top of the air compressor bottle. Apply bonding glue to close up the hole and adhere the screw fitting to the air compressor bottle. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

  Put the bicycle pump down on the newspaper with the tip facing to the left. Put the tip of the bicycle pump into the free end of the PVC air gauge regulator so that it lies flush.

  Apply bonding glue around the end of the bicycle pump to adhere it to the PVC air gauge regulator. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

  Put the foam rubber down on the newspaper. Cut a dart out of the foam rubber using the utility knife. Place the dart into the open end of the PVC pipe that is serving as the barrel of your sniper rifle dart gun.

  Open the screw on the PVC air gauge regulator. Pump the handle of the bicycle pump 10 to 15 times. Turn the screw closed.

  Aim your sniper rifle dart gun at a target in your backyard̵2;for example, the side of the house. Unscrew the closed screw on the PVC air gauge regulator to fire the dart.
