Description
Nerf darts are small cylinders of foam that measure about 4 inches long and a half-inch in diameter. Children use these hollow darts in special Nerf guns. Some Nerf guns need specific types of darts to make the gun work. Not all darts work in all guns. All Nerf darts are lightweight and harmless to play with.
Suction Cup Darts
Some darts have suction cups on the ends of them. These suction cups allow the darts that a child shoots to stick to specialty targets or glass windows. While the dart may leave a little bit of a mark on the windows, you can easily clean it off with some glass cleaner and a rag. Use the suction cup darts with Firefly, Maverick, Nite Finder, Switch Shot, Hornet and Scout Nerf guns.
Velcro Darts
Children use Velcro darts when playing dart tag. The Nerf dart tag guns come with special vests for opposing players to wear. The vests are a type of foam fabric that attracts the darts. If a child is shot, the dart sticks to the vest. The vests have targets on them so the kids can add up points during the game. Use these darts with the specific dart tag guns.
Bullet Darts
Bullet darts have a rounded rubber tip that bounce off whatever they hit. These work especially well with the machine style guns that come with bandoliers. Use these darts in the Long Shot, Recon, Nite Finder, Raider, Vulcan and Hornet.
Streamline Darts
Streamline darts promise to fly farther and faster than other Nerf darts. Use these darts with the Recon, Vulcan, Nite Finder, Raider, and Hornet.
Screamers
Screamers do just what their name suggests. When shot out of a Nerf gun, they make a whistling sound. Use the screamers with the Vulcan, Magstrike, Nite Finder, Secret Strike and Switch Shot.
Missiles
Nerf makes a special missile-looking dart to use with their crossbow style gun. There is also a mega-missile. Players can only use the Titan Nerf gun with the mega-missile. The mega-missile is about 12 inches long and 5 inches in diameter, making it the absolute largest of all the Nerf darts.
