How to Make an Airsoft Rocket Launcher

Airsoft guns and rifles let you pretend to be a solder fighting a war in a desolate foreign land. Making an Airsoft rocket launcher raises the bar on pretending to be a fighter by giving you a highly sophisticated weapon to use against distant targets. You will need parts from a hardware store and some common hardware tools. Expect to spend two hours or more assembling your rocket launcher.

Things You'll Need

Newspaper
Two 1 foot long, 3/4-inch wide PVC pipes
1 foot long, 1/2-inch wide PVC pipe
3/4-inch wide PVC pipe fitting
Portable drill
2-inch nails
10-inch long, 1/2-inch wide spring
Hacksaw
1/2-inch wide copper cap
Bonding glue
Modeling clay

Instructions

  Put the newspaper on a work surface. Put the spring down on the newspaper. Place the copper cap against one end of the spring. Apply bonding glue around the copper cap where it touches the spring. Let the bonding glue dry for at least a day.

  Put one of the PVC pipes on the newspaper. Use the portable drill to make a hole in the pipe near the bottom and another at about the middle.

  Insert the spring into the pipe with the end that doesn̵7;t have the copper cap attached to it going in first. Insert a nail into the bottom hole so that it goes into the end of the spring.

  Screw the pipe fitting over the end of the pipe at the side of the bottom hole. Screw one end of the other PVC pipe into the pipe fitting. Use the hacksaw to cut the end of the other PVC pipe so that it forms a point.

  Insert the 1/2-inch wide PVC pipe into the end of the first PVC pipe and push down on the copper cap to compress the spring.

  Insert a nail into the hole in the PVC pipe in front of the copper cap.

  Rub some modeling clay between your hands to form a cylinder. Place the cylinder into the end of the PVC pipe so that it lies against the nail that is in the middle of the PVC pipe.

  Go outside. Place the pointed end of the PVC pipe on your shoulder. Aim the Airsoft rocket launcher you have made at a tree. Remove the nail that is in the middle of the PVC pipe to fire the ̶0;rocket.̶1;
