Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place glue on the top tips of three Popsicle sticks. Pinch the three Popsicle sticks on top of each other between your index finger and thumb. Fan out the bottom ends of the top and bottom stick to form a triangle, or W shape, still pinching the top edges together. Hold the tips together until the glue dries.
Weave another Popsicle stick sideways through the middle of the three in the W formation. The added stick should go over the first stick, under the middle stick and over the last stick. Glue to lock in place.
Weave the last Popsicle stick through the formation as you did with the fourth stick, but it should be placed farther down the W, close to the bottom of the triangle formation. Weave this stick under the first stick, over the middle stick and under the last stick. Glue in place.
Paint the airplane as desired. The plane can be painted all one uniform color or it can be painted according to the piece. For example, the sides or wings may be painted one color while the tip or nose of the plane is painted another. Stickers or glitter could also be added to the plane to add some details and decorations.
Cut and glue a piece of fabric to the top of the plane to add greater aerodynamics to the craft. Lay the plane onto a piece of fabric, a light weight fabric like jersey or cotton will work best, and trace the shape of the plane onto the fabric. Cut out the shape accordingly. Place glue on the portion of Popsicle sticks forming the border of the plane and press the fabric down on top of them to adhere.
