How to Modify an N-Strike Scout Nerf Gun

Nerf N-Strike is a series of spring-powered foam dart guns manufactured by Hasbro and designed for target shooting and games of tag. The guns fire soft plastic-tipped foam projectiles which either stick to smooth surfaces by means of a small suction cup or hit a target and bounce due to a cushioned plastic tip. Customizing and upgrading these guns is a way to make the gun unique to the owner and player.

Instructions

    • 1

Refer to Internet web sites such as Hasbro or Toys R Us to determine upgrades which are available from the manufacturer. Several add-on upgrades are available which are designed to slide onto the accessory rail of the gun.

    • 2

Upgrade the sights on the N-Strike by installing the Nerf Mission Kit Pinpoint Site. This is a red dot point site which slides onto the top accessory rail. Simply aim the N-Strike in the general direction, place the dot on the target and fire.

    • 3

Install the N-Strike Flip Clip on guns using the removable clip. A plastic connector attaches two clips together at the base. When one clip is emptied, simply remove, flip, attach and continue shooting.

    • 4

Upgrade to N-Strike Whistler Darts. These darts are designed to fly farther by design and actually emit a whistle as they fly through the air.

    • 5

Customize the N-Strike with paint. Spray paint manufacturers such as Krylon make paints which are specifically designed to bond with plastics.
