Take It Apart
Pick up your Rubik's Cube and make sure all of the sides are completely straight. Choose any side and turn it one-eighth of a turn. The corners of the row you turned should be resting over the center cubes of the next row down.
Take your tweezers and use them to pry one of the center cubes off of the row you turned. Don't try to take off one of the corner cubes. Depending on how old your cube is, this make take a little bit of force, but the piece should pop out relatively easily.
Pry the remaining pieces off using either your tweezers or your hands. Once the first cube is removed, the rest will come much more easily. You will be left with the center axis connected to the center cubes from each individual side.
Rebuild the cube by snapping the pieces back in place. To avoid rebuilding the cube in an impossible-to-solve scramble, rebuild it as a completed puzzle. Each side should be comprised of cubes of the same color. Then, scramble the cube and try to solve it for real.
