Solving the Cube
Contrary to the belief of those who are stumped by this puzzle, there are many different ways to solve it. One way is to start with one color, find the four side cubes for that color and position them so that the side looks like a cross. But we̵7;re not here to learn how to solve, we̵7;re here to cheat.
Cheating
There are certainly a number of ways to cheat at solving the Rubik̵7;s Cube. Some joke about peeling off the colored stickers and gluing them back on the correct sides, and some have actually done it. This is not recommended. Peeling the stickers stretches them out of shape, and gluing is messy and ineffective. You fool nobody, and end up with a cube that looks like it was chewed by a dog.
Another trick is to drop the cube into a bucket of paint, so nobody can prove you didn̵7;t solve the puzzle. This also is not recommended.
The most common cheat for the Rubik̵7;s Cube is to dismantle it and reassemble the pieces in the correct color order.
Yes, seriously.
To get the cube apart, you̵7;ll need a quarter, or any hard, flat piece strong enough to pry the cube. Turn the top of your cube a half-turn so that the middle square is aligned with the corner of the level below. Slip your quarter under the middle square and pry upward. The middle square will pop out of your cube. From there, it̵7;s a simple matter to remove the rest of the squares from the center pivot piece. The pivot piece retains the six squares that are the center of each side. Take each piece you removed from the pivot, align them properly with the colors of the center squares and restore them to the pivot.
