There are many different types of girls vanities now being sold. Does your little girl have any particular vanity in mind? If so, then you have a target! If not, print several different kinds from the internet, describe them to her, and ask her to choose. She will know best which one she wants! To help you out with this task, the following are descriptions of the types of vanities available, and tips about each one.
DISNEY PRINCESS MAGICAL TALKING VANITY from Disneystore.com (see below for link), $99.95. This is the one I got my daughter for Christmas this year. She wanted a "talking vanity" and the Disney Sleeping Beauty Talking Head Vanity (described below) is sold out everywhere. Consumers on the Disney Store website rated this vanity a 3 out of 5 stars, citing that the stool is small and the doors on the vanity are flimsy.
SLEEPING BEAUTY TALKING HEAD VANITY, sold out and no longer offered at Toys R Us, but can find on eBay for $100 and up. This was my daughter's number one choice. For awhile, this was offered on the Toys R Us website, but is no longer listed. This is a hard-to-find vanity, maybe because this product has gotten such good reviews and ratings.
DISNEY PRINCESS ARIEL LITTLE MERMAID MAGICAL TALKING SALON VANITY. This is close to being sold out everywhere. Target sells it online, but it is currently unavailable (as of 12-6-09). You can sign up on their website to receive notification once this is available again. I found mixed reviews about this vanity on the internet.
PRINCESS VANITY TABLE AND CHAIR SET BY LEVELS OF DISCOVERY. This is more like furniture than the plastic vanity sets. Made of wood and composites, and the chair has a polyester cushion. Very cute, but relatively high priced. Also, this vanity doesn't talk or make noise like other varieties.
AMERICAN PLASTICS DELUXE PRINCESS VANITY. Includes hair styling accessories, such as a toy blow dryer that actually blows air. Would be a good choice for a very young girl.
