How to Make My Nerf Nitefinder Shoot Farther

The Nerf Nite Finder is another fun Nerf dart gun that can normally shoot up to 35 feet. It also comes with a laser scope. If you want to increase the range of the gun, you really just need to remove the air restricter. Here is how to do it.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • Glue
  • 4 inches of plastic tubing with a diameter that fits the darts snugly into it (e.g., PETG)

Instructions

    • 1

First you want to remove the shell. Take the cap off of the handle of the gun, where the batteries go. Then unscrew the shell (all of the screws visible on the assembled gun) and remove it. Be sure you keep track of all the parts and don't lose anything. Also, remember where everything goes; you will be putting the gun back together later.

    • 2

Now remove the plunger and barrel. This will be the part of the gun where you load the darts, and it comprises four pieces. Remove the cap from the plunger.

    • 3

Among the pieces of the barrel/plunger, you should have an orange piece with a long stick protruding from it. This is the air restricter. Simply snap the twig off it, opening a larger hole for air to flow through.

    • 4

Now glue the plastic tube onto the modified air restricter. It should run parallel to the direction that the stick was originally pointing so that the air is funneled through it. Make sure the glue seal is airtight.

    • 5

Now place the air restricter cap back on the plunger, and put the gun back together as it was. The air restricter should be the only modification on the gun, so everything else will go back just as it was. Before screwing the gun together, try to pull the trigger a few times to make sure everything is functioning properly. Then screw the gun together, and you're ready to go.
