How to Modify a Nerf Hyperfire

Nerf dart guns continue to evolve as the dart gun of choice for many children (and adults). From games of capture the flag to target practice, Nerf dart guns are simply entertaining. But if you want a little more action, there are ways to modify your Nerf guns, including the Nerf Dart Tag Hyperfire Blaster, so that they shoot farther and faster.

Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew all the screws on the shell and lift the shell open. Slide out the front chamber of the gun (the orange piece where you load the darts). It looks similar to the barrels of a Gatling gun if you are having trouble locating it.

    • 2

There are five screws on the back of the chamber, opposite the holes where you load the darts. Unscrew these. Then remove the orange front of the gun. You should be left with two pieces, one a circle of connected hollow cylinders and one that has several orange sticks coming out of a circle with a cylinder coming out of the other end.

    • 3

Remove the 10 orange sticks. They should slide off the black circle relatively easily. Then snap off the long orange stick part of the pieces because they restrict airflow. After that, put the 10 orange sticks (which are now thin cylinders) back where they were before.

    • 4

Take the other orange piece from before (the circle of connected orange cylinders) and reattach it as it was before. Make sure the screw holes are lined up, then screw it back together.

    • 5

Place the reassembled chamber back into the gun. Make sure all the pieces are still in the right places so that the gun has the same outward appearance it had when you first removed the shell. Pull the trigger to make sure the barrel rotates and to confirm everything is put back together correctly. Then reattach the shell and screw it back into place.
