The TootsieToy company began selling metal small pins, cuff links and charms in the late 1800s, and by 1911 it started selling the first line of die-cast metal vehicles. Over the years it created a number of metal toy products, from play kitchen sets and tea sets to cars and trucks. Today it is still actively producing toys, like hardwood blocks, homemaking kits, toy soldiers and die-cast cars and trucks.

  Browse through an antique toy guide to see if you can find the toy you're trying to identify. There is even a TootsieToy antique guide filled with images and details about the toys that may be able to help you identify the toy in question.

  Check the body of the toy for the TootsieToy insignia. Many of the antique TootsieToys were marked on the back with a clear label indicating that they were manufactured by the TootsieToy company.

  Check the original box if you have it. Although many antique collectibles may not still be in their original package, if you happen to have the original box or package your toy came in, the TootsieToy insignia will appear in the upper-left corner of the package.
