How to Modify a Red Rider BB Gun

The Red Rider BB gun is a classic toy from a bygone age. Many still enjoy using this BB gun, although it has changed very little since it was first created. The Red Rider BB gun can be modified by adding a laser scope for sighting your targets, a compass that will never fail to tell you which way is North and a carrying strap for when you need to use both hands. These modifications will take a few hours and should be done with preparation and care.

Things You'll Need

Metal screws
Leather strap
Clean cloth
Compass
Bonding glue
Permanent ink marker
4 x 5 laser scope

Instructions

- 1
  Screw a metal screw into the bottom of the barrel and another into the side of the gun stock. Attach the leather strap to the two screws so that there is now a rifle strap attached to the Red Rider BB gun.

  Put the clean cloth down on a work surface, and put the Red Rider BB gun down on its side on the clean cloth.

  Glue the compass to the side of the gun stock with the bonding glue. Let the glue dry.

  Position the laser scope on the top of the Red Rider BB gun in front of the gun sights. Mark the position of the laser scope with the permanent ink marker.

  Squeeze the bonding glue onto the markings made by the permanent ink marker on the top of the Red Rider BB gun.

  Place the laser scope on the bonding glue and hold it until the glue holds the laser scope. Let the glue dry.
  
  Your Red Rider BB gun now is equipped with a carrying strap, a laser sight and a compass to use wherever you might take it.
