How to Make Your Fingers Stick to a Tech Deck

A tech deck is a type of miniature skateboard on which you use your fingers to simulate skateboard tricks and stunts. When performing certain tricks, it is often necessary to keep your fingers stuck to the top of the fingerboard in order to maintain control. While keeping your fingers on top of the fingerboard can be a challenge, there are a few tips to help you overcome this difficulty.

Instructions

    • 1

Position your fingers correctly on the Tech Deck to make sure they will stick when performing tricks and stunts. Use your dominant hand, and place your index finger in the middle of the fingerboard between the screws and the Tech Deck logo. Place your middle finger on the tail of the fingerboard, hanging slightly off the edge of the deck.

    • 2

Practice keeping your fingers stuck to the board while it's in the air by doing an "ollie," which is basically a hop on a skateboard. Roll the Tech Deck backwards with your fingers to gain momentum. This will help you to propel the board into the air.

    • 3

Tap the tail of the fingerboard quickly against the ground with your middle finger in order to pop the Tech Deck into the air. Allow the Tech Deck to be propelled into the air by lifting your hand with the fingerboard. Resting the Tech Deck vertically against your fingers while it is in the air can help you maintain control of the fingerboard.

    • 4

Move the Tech Deck forward once it is 1 or 2 inches in the air and level it out by pushing down with your index finger on the middle of the fingerboard. In this position, push the fingerboard back down to the ground. Don't let the fingerboard fall to the ground; push it down with your fingers to ensure that you maintain control and keep your fingers stuck to the Tech Deck.

Place your fingers are in approximately the same position as the Tech Deck hits the ground (as when you started the stunt). Apply more pressure with your index finger than your middle finger to prevent the Tech Deck from popping back into the air accidentally.
