How to Make a Pool Slide Slippery

Swimming in pools is a way to stay cool during the warmer months of the year. Of course, if an ordinary pool isn't good enough for you there are several ways to enhance it, including the addition of a pool slide. Because a pool slide doesn't have circulating water and is exposed in the warm sun, the plastic or metal slide can often be anything but slippery. There's an easy cure for that, however.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect a garden hose to an outside faucet. Make sure the hose is long enough to reach the top of the pool's slide.

    • 2

Turn the faucet on. Spray down all interior sides of the pool slide. Get everything nice and wet. The water sprayed on the slide will ensure you slide down the pool slide fast, without sticking or burning yourself on the warm plastic.

    • 3

Spray the slide every time it begins to dry out. During the extremely hot months you may want to just place the hose on the top of the pool slide and leave it there. This way you are going to have a constant flow of water down the slide.

Dip a bucket into the pool and fill it with water if you do not have a garden hose long enough to reach your pool slide.

    • 5

Pour the bucket of water down the pool slide to make the slide slippery. To make sure the slide stays wet, have each person who intends to go down the slide take a bucket of pool water with them.
