Cottage Assembly
The Playskool Rose Petal Cottage assembly is made easier, thanks to the color-coded fasteners and poles as well as the zippers on the actual cottage that make it easy and sturdy to zip up. A good way to get ready for assembly is to separate the fasteners by color, remembering that front corner connectors are red, roof peak connectors are white, and top corner connectors are blue. Make sure that you put the frame together first, as the fabric that makes the cottage is slipped on and zipped over the top easily. Follow the diagrams provided in the instructions (see resources for a copy of the instruction manual) and then zip the side, front and back panels on over the top of the frame.
Stove Assembly
The basic Playskool Rose Petal Cottage package comes with a play stove made of the same fabric and rod construction as the actual cottage for a girl to play pretend with. It can be assembled at any time, and it easily clips together with little effort. There should be six stove pieces, so lay them out to take inventory and make sure that you have all of the pieces. If you don't, contact Playskool Customer Service (see resources). Each should clip onto the next; the stove top clips onto the oven, which clips onto the shelves, which clips onto the drawer, and so on.
Storage
While a girl may love her Playskool Rose Petal Cottage and want it out all of the time, it's large and at times can be cumbersome. Luckily, you can fold it up for storage to get it out of the way when you need more space. The Playskool Rose Petal Cottage comes in two distinct sections; to store, you'll need to flip the smaller section around so that the inside of the cottage is facing out. Shimmy this into the larger portion of the cottage, and you suddenly have a cottage that is half the size. of course, it can be easily reassembled by taking out the small piece and facing it right side out once more.
