Basic Tricks
The most common trick for the tech deck board is the shove it. Begin by placing your index finger in the center of the board and your middle finger on the tail. This is the standard finger position for nearly all tricks that you will perform on your Tech Deck. Press down on the tail of your board with your middle finger and spin the board toward you. The middle finger will stay in the center of the board while the board spins around. This trick requires a very light touch.
Ollie
The oillie is the basis of many tricks. It is considered one of the most important tricks so you need to master this one rather quickly. Place your fingers in the standard position. Make sure the board is rolling, then use the middle finger to press down on the back of the board. As you are moving forward, this will bring the front of the board up; keep your index finger in the middle of the board and you will perform a jump. The ollie is required to move on to more advanced tricks.
Putting Tricks Together
Learn several tricks separately. Other tricks include nollies, flips and grinds. Once you've gotten these tricks down, you can string them all together to perform combos. Try stringing together an ollie, kickflip and a manual in one trick. Use this with your skate park accessories or use your imagination and grind or slide off counters, books and ledges. Master the basics and then begin creating your own tricks. Remember to use a light touch and have plenty of momentum for the moving tricks. Other combos might include a nollie with a grind or a nollie with a kickflip.
