How to Modify a Nerf Gun Tek Six

The Ruff Stuff Air Blaster Tek Six is a toy firearm that shoots darts similar to those of the official Nerf line of products. It is a favored weapon of Nerf enthusiasts because to its low cost, rapid rate of fire and accurate strafing abilities. An unmodified version of the Tek Six fires six shots in quick succession and covers a range of 10 to 15 feet. With a CPVC barrel modification, the Tek Six can reach opponents up to 12 yards from your position, adding great range and increased accuracy to an already powerful gun.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the six screws that hold the frame of the gun together. Always keep track of your screws and any springs that come dislodged during modification so they can be easily reassembled.

    • 2

Take out the turret portion and unscrew the one anchor screw that holds it together.

    • 3

Pry off the back of the turret and discard the rear portion that holds the darts together. These will no longer be necessary once the upgrade is complete.

    • 4

Use your saw to remove all six of the barrels. You may want to sand down the areas if the barrels did not come off cleanly.

    • 5

Glue your six 2 ¾-inch CPVC pipes into the positions where the old barrels used to be. Take care to ensure these match up and that the glue does not cover the air holes.

    • 6

Screw the frame back together and allow to dry before testing.
