How to Use a Nerf Longshot

Hasbro's Nerf guns have allowed children to shoot each other with foam darts for decades. In recent years, Nerf guns have become much more stylistically and technologically complex, with some guns capable of firing fully automatic streams of darts and resembling video game weapons. The Nerf Longshot is the Nerf version of a sniper rifle. Armed with a bolt-action firing mechanism, a targeting scope and a bipod, the Longshot can fire darts up to 35 feet away.

Instructions

  1. Assembling the Longshot

    • 1

Insert the long piece of the bolt mechanism into the hole on the side of the main gun unit. Connect it to the short bolt piece on the other side of the gun unit.

    • 2

Slide the stock into the grooves on the rear of the gun unit until it snaps in place. Extend or retract the stock to your preference.

    • 3

Slide the sight into the grooves on the top of the gun unit until it snaps in place.

    • 4

Slide the grip into the grooves on the bottom of the gun until it snaps in place.

    • 5

Slide the Extension Blaster onto the front of the gun until it's at a 90-degree angle, with the extension's grip pointing to the right. Rotate the extension clockwise until the grip points down and the extension clicks into place.

    Using the Longshot

    • 6

Slide up to six Streamline darts into the clip, one at a time. Make sure the darts point in the correct direction, as indicated on the clip.

    • 7

Pull the bolt mechanism back. The ready indicator on the top of the Longshot should change from black to red.

    • 8

Push the clip up into the gun unit. Push the bold mechanism forward.

    • 9

Pull the trigger at the rear of the Longshot to fire a dart.

    • 10

Pull the bolt mechanism all the way back, and then push it all the way forward to load another dart. Pull the rear trigger again to fire.

    • 11

Pull the bolt mechanism back and press the clip locking button to remove an empty clip. The clip locking button is located on the right side of the Longshot, near the rear trigger.

    • 12

Open the bipod on the bottom of the gun unit to give the Longshot a stand to rest on.

    Using the Extension Blaster

    • 13

Slide a Streamline dart onto the lower muzzle on the tip of the Extension Blaster.

    • 14

Slide the cocking mechanism on the bottom of the Extension Blaster backward.

    • 15

Pull the trigger at the front of the Longshot to fire.

    • 16

Detach the Extension Blaster from the Longshot by rotating it 90 degrees counterclockwise and removing it from the front of the gun unit, if you wish to use the Extension Blaster separately.

    Clearing a Jammed Dart

    • 17

Slide the bolt mechanism all the way back. Pull the trigger if the bolt mechanism seems stuck.

    • 18

Remove the clip from the gun unit.

    • 19

Open the jam clearing door on the top of the gun unit, near the sight.

    • 20

Remove the jammed dart and close the jam clearing door.

    • 21

Return the clip to the gun unit. Slide the bolt mechanism all the way forward.
