Instructions for Password Journal - Pink

Initial Setup

• Unscrew the battery compartment door from the back of the journal. Insert three AAA batteries. Replace the battery compartment door.

  After installing the batteries, the journal will say, ̶0;Please enter your password.̶1; Wait for the green access light to turn on, and speak your password clearly into the microphone. The journal will say, ̶0;Please repeat your password.̶1; Repeat the password clearly into the microphone. If the journal accepts your password, it will say ̶0;Password recorded,̶1; and the journal will open. If not, you must re-enter the password. Enter your password in a quiet room and speak it in exactly the same way every time, with the same tone, inflection and volume.

Setting the Date, Time and Alarm

• The journal will ask you, ̶0;Do you want to set your time?̶1; Say ̶0;Yes̶1; into the microphone if you want to set the time, or say ̶0;No̶1; if you wish to skip this step. The journal will say ̶0;Please enter one number at a time, wait for the beep.̶1; Enter the time as a four number sequence. Speak one number at a time into the microphone and wait for a beep before entering the next number. If the time were 3:26, you would say ̶0;Zero (beep). Three (beep). Two (beep). Six (beep).̶1; The Journal will ask ̶0;Is it AM?̶1; Say ̶0;Yes̶1; if it is, or ̶0;No̶1; if it is PM. The Journal will state the time and ask if it is correct. Say ̶0;Yes̶1; if it is or ̶0;No̶1; to repeat the process.

  The journal will ask you ̶0;Do you want to set the date?̶1; Reply ̶0;Yes̶1; or ̶0;No.̶1; If you said ̶0;Yes,̶1; the journal will say ̶0;What year is it? Please enter one number at a time, wait for the beep.̶1; Enter the year as a four number sequence, speaking one number at a time and waiting for a beep before entering the next number. For 2009, say ̶0;Two (beep). Zero (beep). Zero (beep). Nine (beep).̶1; The journal will ask ̶0;What month is it?̶1; Say the name of the month into the microphone. The journal will ask ̶0;What day is it?̶1; Enter the day as a two number sequence, speaking one number at a time and waiting for a beep between numbers. If the date were the 25th, you would say ̶0;Two (beep). Five (beep).̶1; The journal will state the date and ask if it is correct. Say ̶0;Yes̶1; if it is or ̶0;No̶1; to repeat the process.

  The Journal will ask you ̶0;Do you want to set an alarm?̶1; Reply ̶0;Yes̶1; or ̶0;No.̶1; If you said ̶0;Yes,̶1; the journal will ask ̶0;Date or time alarm?̶1; Answer either ̶0;Date̶1; or ̶0;Time̶1; and enter the date or time of the alarm in the same manner as above. The journal will state the date or time of your alarm and ask if it is correct. Say ̶0;Yes̶1; if it is correct, or ̶0;No̶1; to try again. The journal will sound a ten second alarm at your specified time or when it is opened on your specified date.

Using the Password Journal

• To open your journal, press the "ACCESS" button next to the microphone. The Journal will say, ̶0;Please enter your password.̶1; Speak your password clearly into the microphone. If the journal recognizes your password, it will open. If not, an alarm will sound, and you will have to try again. With the journal open, you can write on the notepad with a pen or with the journal̵7;s marker. Notes you make with the marker will not appear unless you activate the journal̵7;s blue light.

  Press the "WAKE" button to enter a voice command. The journal will say ̶0;Okay.̶1; Say ̶0;Light̶1; to turn the blue light on or off. Say ̶0;Time̶1; or ̶0;Clock̶1; to hear the current time. Say ̶0;Calendar,̶1; ̶0;Day̶1; or ̶0;Date̶1; to hear the current date. Say ̶0;Alarm̶1; to hear the date or time of your alarm. Say ̶0;Alarm Off̶1; to deactivate the alarm or say ̶0;Set Alarm̶1; to enter a new alarm. Say ̶0;Change Date̶1; to re-enter the date in the same manner as above. Say ̶0;Change Time̶1; to change the time, or ̶0;Change password̶1; to change your password. Speak voice commands clearly, preferably in a quiet room.

  Press the "Light" button to turn the blue light on or off. Slide the security switch to "Low" to make it easier to enter your password or "High" to make password recognition stricter. Press the "Reset" button in the battery compartment to reset the journal and enter the setup process again.
