How to Remove Tonka Decals

Tonka trucks and cars have provided good, durable fun for millions of children for several decades. If you have one of these trucks, old or new, you probably know that the vehicle itself will last far longer than the decals that were applied to it. Perhaps your decals are now old and faded, peeling or scratched up. Maybe you simply want to redecorate your toy vehicle with either new Tonka decals or some decals of another type. Regardless of your reason for wanting to remove them, taking old decals off of Tonka trucks and cars is a simple process.

Instructions

    • 1

Saturate the rag with Goo Gone.

    • 2

Wrap the rag around the decal, if possible. Otherwise, place the Goo Gone-soaked rag on top of the decal so that pieces of the rag over hang the edges of the decal.

    • 3

Squirt more Goo Gone onto the rag so that it is dripping.

    • 4

Wrap the entire truck in plastic wrap, making sure to keep the rag in place over the decal. Be certain to seal the truck thoroughly so the rag does not dry out.

    • 5

Allow the wrapped truck to sit overnight.

    • 6

Remove the plastic wrap, the rag, and peel up the decal.

    • 7

Add more Goo Gone to the rag to wipe the remainder of the decal adhesive off of the truck.
