How to Design a Tech Deck Board

  You're going to be stripping the board, so get one you have two of, or use one you don't want anymore.

  Strip the board of its wheels and trucks. Sand down the design until just the wood shows through. This may take a while, and should be done carefully.

  Design what you want your board to look like. This is best done on a separate piece of paper, before you take it to the board. To get an accurate sense of the design, trace the board on your paper first so you know your spacial limitation.

  You now have one of two options. You can either redraw the design directly on the board or create a stencil of your design. A stencil will guarantee the best results, but can prove difficult. If you want to create a stencil, carefully carve out the main shapes of your design on the paper.

  If you opt for a stencil, secure it to the board with tape or clips. Spray paint your stencil until the board is coated just the way you want it.

  Once you have the design you like, let the board dry and reattach the trucks and wheels. You now have a completely customized Tech Deck board.
