Things You'll Need
Instructions
Inspect the mat of your trampoline frequently. If you ever see weak spots or very small holes, use duct tape to ensure that the rip doesn't get any bigger. Once this rip or hole gets any larger than a centimeter or two, this method will not work anymore.
Measure the hole or rip that you are dealing with. If the rip or hole is larger than 1 to 2 inches, you cannot patch your trampoline, and you must buy a new mat.
Remove the mat of the trampoline from the frame. This is especially necessary if you are doing this patch on your sewing machine.
Take the patch out of your patch kit and lay it over the hole you are repairing.
Sew, using the patch and thread in your patch kit, around the edges of the hole. Leave an inch or so around the hole.
Stitch around the patch repeatedly to ensure the patch is strong. Look at any instructions that came with the patch kit as to what type of stitch you should be using for the weave of your particular mat.
Cut away any extra material that is left over after that patching, and then put the mat back onto the trampoline frame.
