Things You'll Need
Instructions
Paper Clip Jewelry
Gather at least 20 paper clips.
Attach paper clips to one another. Double-loop ends should be clipped to single-loop ends.
When chain of paper clips reaches appropriate length, join ends to form one loop of paper clips.
Use paper clip chain as a necklace, bracelet or other piece of jewelry for yourself, others, dolls or stuffed animals.
Paper Clip Garland
As in Section 1 (Paper Clip Jewelry), form a string of many paper clips attached to one another. Use colored paper clips for visual appeal.
When the string becomes long enough, stop. Do not attach the ends together (as was done in Section 1).
Use paper clip chain to decorate items such as Christmas trees.
Paper Clip Magnet
Rub a metal (not plastic or plastic-coated) paper clip along a magnet.
Use magnetized paper clip to pick up other paper clips or smaller metal objects.
Variation: This activity can be an educational opportunity for kids to learn about polarization and metal properties.
