How Much Silly String Is in One Can?

Wham-O introduced Silly String to the world in 1972. The product is foam sprayed from an aerosol can that hardens upon contact with the air to become a plastic-like, slightly tacky, colored string. In 1999, Wham-O tranferred the rights to Silly String. It is now made by Just for Kicks, Inc., located in Watertown, New York. Just for Kicks is a subsidiary of Car-freshener Corporation.

- A can of Silly String yields about 400 feet of string.

- Two tips for getting the maximum amount of string from a can are to shake the can before use, and to press down fully on the spray nozzle.
Colors
- Silly String comes in seven colors: blue, pink, yellow, purple, green, orange and black.

- Just for Kicks produces about 4 million cans of Silly String annually.

- The Harlem Globetrotters use Silly String, as does the comedian Carrot Top and the Blue Man Group, according to the company. The Blue Man Group uses blue string.
