Locate the "Mode" button on the right side of Tekno's head just below the ear. Press the "Mode" button until you hear a "beep" to tell Tekno you are going to set the time.
Press on Tekno's nose to set the hours. For example, to set the hour to 7 a.m., press Tekno's nose seven times. To set the hour for 3 p.m., press the robotic puppy's nose 15 times. Tekno will tell time based on a 24-hour time system commonly known as "military time." In military time, any hour after the noon hour is equal to the hour plus 12, so 1 p.m. becomes 13 o'clock and 2 p.m. is 14 o'clock.
Press the "Mode" button when you are done setting the hour. Tekno will then repeat back in "beeps" the number of the hour you set. If Tekno beeps the right number back (13 beeps for 1 p.m., for example), press the "Mode" button again. If the number of beeps is incorrect, press "Reset" and repeat Step 2.
Enter the minutes of the hour. Tekno is ready for you to do this. However, Tekno can only approximate the time in 5-minute blocks, so stop and figure out what the actual time is closest to if you were to work with only such time blocks. Press Tekno's nose again, but do so with one press equaling 5 minutes. For example, if it is 15 minutes past the hour, press Tekno's nose three times; 35 minutes past the hour, press the nose sensor seven times; and so on.
When you are done, press "Mode" again. Tekno will repeat back the beeps for the amount of 5-minute blocks you entered. If the number of beeps is correct, hit "Mode" again and you have completed teaching Tekno the time. If the number of beeps is incorrect, press "Reset" and repeat this step.
