Work with your Nintendogs consistently until they recognize their names and come to you when called. If you have more than one dog, consider boarding the others at the hotel so you can train them one at a time. Pet and praise them when they respond to you.
Bathe them often, so their status is consistently "beautiful" or "clean." If you allow to them to become "dirty" or "filthy," baths will take longer and you'll have to contend with fleas. Always brush them immediately after a bath to retain the "beautiful" state longer.
Keep them well fed and give the Nintendogs plenty to drink. Buy wet and dry food, water, milk and treats at the Discount Store to save money. Remember to check their hunger and thirst level when returning from walks or competitions.
Find toys and sporting equipment that they love. If you toss an item into the room and the dogs don't chase after it or simply bark at it, try a different item. Get a wide variety of objects by buying them at the store or finding presents when you take your dogs for walks.
Take them for walks to discover new friends and gifts filled with toys and accessories. Pull the Nintendogs away from trash to keep them from getting sick and exit the screen immediately if they're not getting along with another dog. (If the menacing drums sound while they're barking or chasing each other, press the red arrow at the top left of the screen.)
Practice often to make sure they're ready for competitions. Train for agility trials in the arena, disc competitions at the park and obedience trials in your own living room. They'll love their first place trophies and the wins will raise your trainer points.
