Work with your Nintendog when he's in a good mood. Feed and bathe him so his status levels read "full," "quenched" and "beautiful." If your dog is kicking his back feet toward you, barking angrily or thrashing on his back, take him for a long walk or play with him until he feels better.
Ensure your dog responds to you and knows how to sit on command. The game should guide you through "sit," but if you haven't done it yet, simply drag the stylus down the middle of your dog's head, from top to bottom. The light bulb will appear in the upper-right corner of the touch screen-touch it and clearly say, "Sit" or "sit down." Repeat the process until your Nintendog will sit on command.
Teach your dog how to jump, as well. To do this, pet your dog and wait for her to playfully crouch down on her front paws and wiggle her behind in the air. Tap the touch screen slightly above her head and she will jump. Touch the light bulb and say, "Jump." Again, repeat this until she can jump with a simple voice command.
Combine the two tricks to teach your puppy to do a backflip. Say, "Sit." When he sits, immediately say, "Jump" and he should do a flip from the sitting position. Tap the light bulb icon and say, "Flip" or "backflip." If he doesn't complete the flip, keep trying or practice sitting and jumping a few more times.
