How to Control a Robot

If you own or are thinking of owning a robot, you probably know that they come in all types, sizes and capabilities. Robot design is expanding and changing all the time. It would be impossible to include in this space all the ramifications of controlling a robot.

Instructions

    • 1

Control a robot, first of all, by knowing your particular robot. Hopefully, your robot came with an owner's manual. If it did not, contact the manufacturer and obtain one. Read and study the manual thoroughly in order to learn what your robot is capable of doing.

    • 2

Keep your robot properly charged in order for it to perform well. Part of being able to control a robot is to have it functioning at full capacity. Whether it's a toy robot operated by a child, or a highly sophisticated robot designed to work at specific jobs, your robot will only perform well if it is kept properly charged.

    • 3

Be careful to not push your robot past its capabilities. There's such a wide range of control capabilities on various robots, it would be impossible to cover them all here. The important thing is to know what your robot was originally designed to do. You must know the robot's circuit board capacity and stay within that capacity in order to control your robot efficiently. Be careful to not push past your robot's circuit board limits or you'll blow a fuse.

    • 4

Program your robot carefully according to the manufacturer's directions in order to be able to control the robot. If mistakes are made in the programming of the robot, it will be difficult or impossible to control it properly. Different robots can be programmed by you to perform in different ways, within limits of what the robot's purpose is designed to perform.

Speak clearly and with enough volume in your voice if you have a robot that operates on speech recognition. Some robots are designed to function at the sound of your voice. The robot follows a spoken command. Control this type of robot properly by managing your voice volume and clarity.
