Things You'll Need
Instructions
Sketch an outlined silhouette of a UFO, that you want to turn into a plush doll, on a piece of thick paper such as a file folder. Draw the body of the UFO to look like a rounded rectangle and add a half circle on top as the cockpit. Do not make the drawing too detailed. Cut out the shape.
Lay a piece of fabric on a flat surface with its decorative side facing down. Trace the outline of the UFO cutout onto the backside of the fabric using a piece of chalk. Flip over the UFO pattern and trace it again on another section of the material. Cut out along the chalk lines with scissors.
Place one of the UFO cutouts on a flat surface with its decorative side facing up. Layer the other UFO cutout on top of the fabric with its decorative side facing down. Ensure the shapes are mirroring each other and that their edges are evenly lined up. Pin the fabrics in place.
Sew a quarter-inch seam all around the perimeter of the UFO shape. This can be done either on a sewing machine or by hand. Leave a two-inch unsewn opening somewhere along the bottom of the doll. Remove the pins. Turn the material right-side out through this hole.
Stuff the UFO doll with a stuffing material, such as fiberfill. You can also use recyclable materials to fill the toy, such as fabric scraps or crumpled newspapers. Ensure the UFO is plush and completely filled. Sew the opening on the bottom side of the doll closed.
Glue rhinestones around the circumference of the toy to mimic lights on the aircraft. Use fabric paints to define the cockpit and draw an alien inside. Allow the glue and paints to dry before playing with your UFO plush doll.
