Things You'll Need
Instructions
Create or buy a pattern. You can find patterns in craft books. You can also find several free patterns online or choose to design your own. Anime animal characters often have human characteristics. When creating your own pattern you can choose to outline the entire body of your animal in as few as two or three pieces or make something more elaborate. If you pick a pattern with continuous limbs and head you will have fewer pieces. You can also have separate pieces for the head, limbs, snout, ears and tail, which will give you closer to 20 pieces. Torsos, snouts and limbs should be oval in shape. Heads are usually rounded, though many anime animal plushies have attached spiked hair. Ears can be rounded or pointed.
Cut all the pattern pieces out. Lay your fabric on a flat surface and pin your first pattern to the fabric. Secure the fabric to the table using a paperweight or other heavy object that will not damage the fabric. Cut out the fabric and repeat until you have all the pieces you'll need. Remember that some pattern pieces will be used more than once.
Arrange your completed fabric sections so that the same body parts are grouped together. Begin with your larger sections, such as your animal's torso. Match the pieces up so that the nicer sides of the fabric are together, and begin sewing. You'll want to sew the entire animal inside out, but be sure to leave a hole in the body construction.
Flip the plushie animal right-side-out slowly and carefully, one section at a time, through the hole you left open. Press fluff, fiberfill or whatever material you've chosen as stuffing through the hole. Use a stuffing tool or a wooden dowel to firmly press the material into the arms, legs and head of your animal. Once you've achieved the desired firmness, your anime plush is ready to be sewed up completely.
Decorate your creation with buttons, fabric markers and other craft items. You can secure the items with glue or sew them on if you prefer. Anime animal characters tend to have spiked hair, narrow eyes and exaggerated facial features. Refer to pictures from anime cartoons as a guide. For instance, you could attach a large felt smile. Some also wear clothing or carry weapons, which can be fashioned out of scrap fabric. Once you are finished, let the fabric glue dry completely. All that's left is to name your cute stuffed animal.
