Things You'll Need
Instructions
Draw the outline of your owl on paper with a pencil. Start with a rectangle, then round the corners to make an oblong shape. Add two pointed ears. Cut out your pattern. Fold a piece of heavy fabric (like faux fur) in half, and pin the pattern to it. Cut out the two owl body pieces and set aside.
Cut two round eye shapes out of felt. Cut another two eye shapes in a contrasting color, smaller than the first ones. Glue the smaller circles inside the bigger circles. Thread your needle and reinforce the eyes with a simple straight stitch. Lay the eyes on one piece of the owl-shaped fabric and glue into place. Stitch buttons into the centers of the eyes.
To make wings, use a fabric marker and ruler to draw a line from the owl's eye level diagonally to the bottom of the owl, ending in the center. Lay a contrasting fabric along the wing guidelines and trim each piece along the side edge of the owl's body. Stitch wings to the front owl piece along the outer edge and diagonal line. Trim as needed.
Lay the front and back owl pieces right sides together. Stitch all along the outside of the owl, leaving an opening large enough to put your hand through. Turn the fabric right side out. Stuff with cotton batting. Hold the opening closed and stitch.
Draw a foot pattern piece by making a circle. Cut out the circle and trim notches into the shape to create three distinct "claws." Pin the pattern to two pieces of felt and cut. Stitch the foot pieces to the bottom of your owl.
