How to Create a Build-A-Bear

Choose Your Animal

  Ask a store helper to take you to the Choose Me department, where she'll introduce you to Build-A-Bear's 30 furry friends.

  Consider the price of the empty stuffed animals before selecting one to build. Prices range from $10 to $25 just for the animal.

  Choose one of the bears, bunnies, dogs, cats or special characters to become your new furry friend. The store helper will retrieve it for you.

  Move to the Hear Me department. Choose a sound box that will go inside the Build-A-Bear animal you've chosen.

Make Your Build-A-Bear

  Go to the Stuff Me department. Watch as a Build-A-Bear associate fills the animal you've chosen with the sound box and then with stuffing.

  Go to the Stitch Me department, where the last seam of the stuffed animal is pulled to close all openings of the toy.

  Move to the Fluff Me department. Place the animal on a toy bathtub, blast it with air, then brush it to fluff up the fur.

Dress the Build-A-Bear

  Head for the Dress Me department.

  Choose an outfit for the new animal. Select items from the shirts, pants, complete outfits and costumes that Build-A-Bear offers for the animals. The average cost for an outfit is about $15.

  Choose accessories for the new animal. Decide whether to add Build-A-Bear shoes, glasses, vehicles, tents, sports equipment or cell phones for the animal. These accessories cost extra.

Paperwork

  Go to the Name Me department. Sit at a computer and answer questions about your new stuffed animal. Type in its birth date and give it a name.

  Head for the Take Me Home station. Ask a store worker for your animal's customized birth certificate.

  Pay for your new Build-A-Bear. Go home, play with it or give it as a gift.
