How to Replace Butterscotch Pony Batteries

Butterscotch Pony is a electronic toy pony manufactured by Hasbro. The toy is designed to act and sound like a real pony. A child can feed, brush and even sit on the pony, all while the pony neighs and makes riding sounds. Butterscotch is powered by 6 "D" alkaline batteries. When the batteries die, they need to be replaced. To replace the batteries, you must remove the battery housing unit from the stomach area of the horse.

Things You'll Need

Phillips screwdriver
6 "D" batteries

Instructions

- 1
  Separate the Velcro connected to the fur on the bottom side of Butterscotch's stomach. Once separated, the power switch and battery housing area is exposed.

  Slide the power switch to the "Off" position.

  Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw that holds the battery housing unit in place. Continue unscrewing until the battery housing unit can slide outward. Do not remove the screw, only loosen it.

  Slide the battery housing unit toward the back until it is removed from the pony.

  Remove all 6 batteries. Insert 6 new "D" alkaline batteries. Follow the battery +/- indicators for proper battery placement.

  Slide the battery housing unit back into the pony. Tighten the screw to secure the battery housing unit to the pony.

  Slide the power switch to the "On" position.

  Velcro the fur back together to hide the battery housing area.
