Things You'll Need
Instructions
Sit the toys outside for at least a week. By doing this you are airing the smoke out of the toys. Bring the toys back in to see if the smoke odor is gone. If not, sit the toys back outside for two to three more days.
Place fabric softener sheets on the toys. Fabric sheets are extremely potent. They will quickly replace the odor of the smoke.
Spray the toys with an odor-eliminating spray. Ensure that you spray the toys down at least twice a day. Do not let your children play with the toys while the strong fragrance of the spray is on the toys.
Wash and dry the toys if they are stuffed animals or suitable for the washing machine. Be sure to use strong-scented detergent.
Cover the toys in baking soda. Let the baking soda sit on the toys for about an hour. This should help to absorb the smoke odor. Wash or wipe the baking soda off the toys.
