Things You'll Need
Instructions
Clean off the slide with a hose to remove any loose dirt so that the slide does not dirty the pool water. Position a backyard slide so that the end is inside of the pool. This allows the slider to land into the pool after sliding to the bottom of the slide. Fill the pool with water.
Place a water hose at the top of the slide so that the water slides down the slide into the pool. Hold the hose in place by wrapping duct tape around the hose on the slide. Duct tape holds up very well when wet. This is an important step that should not be neglected because sliding down an unwatered slide in the heat will cause sticking and friction that can pull and burn the skin. Adding water to the slide will reduce friction on the slider, allowing for a pain-free slide and increased sliding speed.
Apply a light layer of liquid dish soap on to the slide. This will reduce friction and increase speed even more than just pouring water down the slide. Do not apply any liquid dish soap onto the top or ladder of the slide because this can cause slipping and falling.
