Things You'll Need
Instructions
Determine the size, shape and location of your pool. You'll need to know the exact amount of water your pool holds in gallons; whether it's round, square, or another shape; and if it's above ground or built in.
Purchase the appropriate size saltwater chlorine generator for your pool based on the information you discovered in Step 1. These units can be purchased at pool supply stores, at department stores that sell pool supplies, or from online pool supply vendors.
Install the new saltwater chlorine generator in place of your old pool filtration system by disconnecting the tubes and electrical supply and reconnecting them to the new pump. There is no need for a second electrical hookup or a new breaker for the saltwater generator.
Follow all instructions included for proper installation of the new unit. There is no need to drain your pool for this process. The new system simply replaces the old water, and begins chlorinating the pool with salt.
