How to Repair a Beach Ball Puncture

A rapidly deflating beach ball can quickly ruin the fun of a day at the beach or pool. Rather than run out to buy a new toy (which may quickly suffer the same fate as the last), you can quickly patch your beach ball with a few easy steps. By taking measures to repair toys when you can, you will greatly increase the lifespan of both the toys and your money.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the hole. The quickest and easiest way to find a hole in a beach ball or other inflatable toy is to submerse it in water. Hold your beach ball in a bucket of water and watch for bubbles rising to the surface. When you have located the puncture, remove the ball from the water and mark the spot with a marker.

    • 2

Dry and deflate the beach ball and lay it as flat as possible so that the punctured area of the ball is facing upwards and smoothed out.

    • 3

Cut a 2 inch square of duct tape. Coat the punctured area of the ball with a thin layer of rubber cement and place the duct tape patch over top. Allow at least one hour to dry before re-inflating the ball. For best results, wait 24 hours.
