Space Bags
Space bags are air-tight, waterproof plastic bags equipped with a vacuum seal valve. They are available in a number of shapes and sizes, and are made to store a large number of items in a small amount of space by removing all of the air from inside the bag. Fill the space bag to capacity, seal it and use a vacuum cleaner to suck the air out of the bag. In just a few seconds, what was once a big bag full of stuffed animals becomes a flat plastic package that can be stored just about anywhere -- under a bed, in a closet, on a shelf or behind a bookcase.
Plastic Storage Bins
Storage bins are used to protect many different types of things. They can be purchased in a number of colors, shapes and sizes to match your design and storage needs. Plastic bins offer a high level or protection for your stuffed animals. Fill your bins with "stuffies," snap on the covers or secure them with tape. Once sealed, you can store your bins and their contents in your basement, garage or storage unit with little worry. Plastic bins will protect your items from all sorts of weather, bugs and creepy crawlies that could destroy the things you want to preserve.
Mesh Netting
Using mesh netting to store your stuffed animals can be a different way to stay organized. Actually, mesh netting makes more sense if you, or your child, want to keep your stuffed animals visible and within easy reach. You can use mesh netting in two different ways. Attach triangular pieces to the walls in the corners of rooms and place the stuffed animals inside, suspending them above the ground in their mesh hammocks. Another method is to make or purchase a mesh tube that you can hang from the wall or ceiling. Drop the stuffed animals into the tube through a hole in the top of the bag.
Toy Chest
Toy chests are an old standby. They offer an aesthetic quality that none of the other options have. Toy chests can be painted, personalized and integrated into the design of your child's room. A good cedar-lined toy chest will safely store your stuffed animals, keeping them fresh and moth-free for many years.
