Things You'll Need
Instructions
Ask her to donate her stuffed animals to the local police department and paramedic services. Explain to her that stuffed animals are often presented to children by paramedics or police officers when they are involved in auto accidents, experience a house fire or the police are called to the home for domestic violence or other disturbances. Knowing that one of her stuffed animals can provide comfort to a young child may help her give them away.
Invite her to go with you to a local children's hospital or children's ward to present the children with old puzzles, books and other toys. Stress to her that these items will be appreciated and enjoyed by sick children.
Ask her to give the old toys to a young niece, cousin or a small child in your neighborhood. Donating them in this manner allows her to go visit the toys if she ever feels the need.
Show her how to put her vintage dolls or other toys for sale on an online auction site. Tell her that she can use the proceeds however she likes. This may inspire her to sell other items as well.
Invite her to go with you to take the old toys to the Salvation Army, Goodwill or another charitable store that sells used items. Explain to her that these organizations sell the toys for a minimal price, and that children who otherwise may not be able to afford them can find pleasure by playing with them.
Purchase plastic storage containers for the old toys. Store them in the attic or a high shelf in her closet in order to get them out of sight. In a few years, she may volunteer to discard them or donate them.
