How to Make Zhu Zhu Pet Dresses

Zhu Zhu Pets are mechanical stuffed toys shaped like hamsters. These toys live similar lives to real hamsters; running in hamster balls, moving around in cages and entertaining children. Unlike real hamsters, however, these toys don't need food or water, can always be resurrected with a change of batteries and will patiently sit still while your children dress them in homemade clothes, making these mechanical critters the perfect fit for some kids.

Things You'll Need

Felt
Ruler
Scissors
Elastic hairband
Glue
Cup
Paperclips
Markers, glitter and sequins (optional)

Instructions

  Cut a 2 1/2-inch by 7-inch rectangle of felt.

  Stretch out the elastic hairband by putting it around a cup.

  Apply glue to the hairband. Press one of the long edges of felt to the hairband. Use paperclips to hold the felt and hairband together while the glue dries. Once the glue has fully dried, you can remove the dress from the cup and put it on a Zhu Zhu pet, fitting with the open side of the dress facing the ground so the toy's wheels don't get stuck in its clothes.

  Decorate the Zhu Zhu Pet dress if you desire. Decoration possibilities are endless. Some ideas include drawing on the dress with markers, gluing sequins to the dress and gluing glitter to the dress.
