Instructions
Purchase a moose toy pattern or download a pattern online.
Lay the pattern pieces onto your wool sweater, as instructed in the pattern directions, and pin into place. The body will be created from the torso of the sweater while the head will be created from a sleeve.
Cut all of the pattern pieces from the sweater.
Place the body pieces together and pin into place. Leave the moose's neck open to allow for head attachment later.
Stitch along the perimeter of the body. Avoid stitching the neck area.
Place the head pieces together and pin into place. Stitch around the perimeter of the head, leaving a small opening to add stuffing.
Thread your needle with brown embroidery thread. Locate the nose area of the moose's head and stitch a small, 1-inch triangle for the nose.
Sew your buttons onto the moose's head for eyes. They should be placed midway up the top of the head.
Cut four oval-shaped pieces from the sweater to create your moose's ears. These should be about 4 inches long by 2 inches wide.
Place ears together and pin into place. Stitch around the perimeter leaving a small opening for stuffing.
Stuff the ears. Push the stuffing down into the tips using the end of a pencil. Hand stitch the openings closed.
Sew the ears onto the moose head, as per the pattern directions.
Stuff the moose's head and body. Push the stuffing into all the tips and corners using the end of a pencil.
Push the moose's head into the neck opening and pin into place. Hand sew around the neck to join the head to the body.
