How to Win the Stuffed Animal Crane Game

You see them in restaurants and grocery stores: large, glass boxes full of stuffed animals with a large claw hanging above. Carefully planning how you position the claw leads to grabbing the stuffed animal of your choice. If you find yourself drawn to grabbing one of the animals in the glass case, there are a few things you can do to get a stuffed animal and take it home.

  Identify what animal you want to win before you put your money in the machine. When trying to choose, keep in mind that the vendors often pack animals in tightly so they are not easy to get out. Avoid animals stuck in corners.

  Use the first 10 seconds moving the claw to the area you want it. The last five seconds, verify that the claw is in the correct position by looking at it from the sides of the machine.

  For three-pronged claws, position the claw over the animal's whole chest. Three-pronged claws are in games that have small stuffed animals. Position a four-pronged claw around the animal's upper chest. Games that have large stuffed animals have the four-pronged claws.

  Press the button once the claw is over the correct area of the stuffed animal. The claw lowers over the stuffed animal of your choice.
